Nice macha and Japanese sweets for quite a decent price in a very touristy part of Kanazawa. Would definitely recommend the macha dango!

Service: The servant here is very good at English and helpful to the elderly to bring stools and kind. Food: Taste delicious! Nice sticky mochi as well! The green tea is a traditional style which is very raw and tastes good! (Note it's a little bit bitter)

Came here on a Tuesday late morning, right before noon time. There are two main rooms upstairs, and when we were there, there was only one other group of customers. Hence, we pretty much had 1 room to ourselves! The matcha tea set was good value compared to ala carte. I like the dango - good balance between sweet and savory. The matcha noodle has a very nice chewy texture. You will have to keep chewing the noodle to taste the matcha in it. Overall, a nice place to take a rest and take some snacks.

Yummy desserts! Water is free as usual but all the traditional desserts we ordered also came with hot tea (except the parfait). The matcha parfait is a little pricy compared to the other items on the menu but the portion is quite big. We came on a late Sunday afternoon and didn’t have to wait for a table. They have 2 floors, but the first floor is shared with a shop so the seating space is limited. The second floor is tatami seating only, but the place for each table/group is spacious so we had plenty of space to put our coats, bags, etc.

Atmosphere is better 2nd floor. If you seat on the first floor, everything becomes ordinary, just a cafe that sells so-so matcha.

Literally the best shop I visited in Chayagai. Great lively atmosphere blending old and new. It's rare to find a store with staff that is so kind and helpful while not being pushy. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Kanazawa.
